  4. IFIP's major biennial event, the World Computer Congress, was held in
  5. Madrid in early September. Their royal highnesses, the king and queen
  6. of Spain presided over the opening ceremony. IFIP President,
  7. Academician Blagovest Sendov hosted a luncheon for a dozen national
  8. computer society presidents during the congress. The Federation on
  9. Tom Cain, President of the Federation on Computing US (FOCUS), hosted
  10. a reception for IFIP and WCC dignitaries.

  12. The IFIP calendar,  newsletter and other documents are available via
  13. anonymous FTP from "software.watson.ibm.com" in the /pub.ifip/
  14. directory. The file, /pub/ifip/index.txt describes the contents of the
  15. other items in the repository.
